Send a Message to Your Donor Family

We ask that you abide by the following guidelines when writing to your donor family:

• Include only information that you feel comfortable sharing about yourself or your family.  This may include your occupation, hobbies, or how your transplant experience has affected your life.​

• Keep identities anonymous and confidential. Avoid including any last names, street addresses, city names, phone numbers, or names of hospitals or physicians​

• All correspondences and stories are handled anonymously, and identities are kept strictly confidential.  Only the message provided by the recipient will be forwarded to the donor family.  An avenue of shared contact information is available for those parties completing an authorization release.

Please note: Everyone has different grieving and healing journeys. Some find writing to the donor family or cornea recipient valuable to their own journey while others may be overwhelmed by the process. Regardless of where you fall on this spectrum, please know that the gratitude in this community is unparalleled – we just all have different ways of expression.
